Waterbury Area Attractions
Nestled in the Green Mountains, the village of Waterbury is an ideal location from which to explore and experience the variety of sights and activities for which Vermont is famous. Whether you have a week or only a day, there is something for all tastes and age groups.
The village itself provides interesting shops: gifts, crafts, specialty foods, antiques and a historic walking tour.
Nearby are four major ski resorts: Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen and Bolton Valley offering some of the best skiing/snowboarding/x-country in Vermont. Snowshoeing opportunities can be found right out the back door and VAST (Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) snowmobile trails can be accessed nearby also.
When its warmer these same mountains provide awesome hiking, backpacking, mountain biking and camping possibilities. Running right behind our Inn the Winooski River offers great canoeing and kayaking as well as some of the best fly fishing waters in New England. Additionally, the Waterbury Reservoir is a great resource for all watersports.
For the relaxed traveler or for those who have had their fill of outdoor activities there are loads of other attractions including Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory (which has factory tours), The Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Cabot Cheese Creamery, and many others including abundant antique stores and a fine array of restaurants for all tastes.
