Stagecoach Inn Waterbury
The Old Stagecoach Inn, designated historic as part of the Waterbury Village Historic District, is unfortunately not able to offer extensive handicap accessible accommodations since such alterations would destroy the historical significance of the property.
Our facility has the following amenities for ADA accessibility
Unfortunately, our facility is not accessible by wheelchair. The main entrance on our side porch has three 7” high steps, and our front porch entrance has one 7” high step and a 2.5” raised lip at the door sill.
We do not have any rooms that are wheelchair accessible.
Room 9 is our only first floor room, and it is accessed via the porch. There are two 7” high steps to access the porch and then a 3” door sill to access the room.
Our remaining rooms are on the second floor, with 15-20 steps to access them, except for rooms 7 and 8 which are on the third floor. We do not have an elevator.
Rooms 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 have walk-in showers that are approximately 39” in width.
Rooms 11 and 12 have grab bars in the shower. Room 12 has a grab bar adjacent to the toilet.
We have three parking spaces available immediately adjacent to the building that are wide enough for a van and ramp. Please note that our parking lot is gravel.
As mentioned above our facility is not accessible by wheelchair. Our main entrance off the side porch is 33” wide with a door lever. Our front porch entrance is 47” wide with a round doorknob. Both porches have steps leading to them and so are not wheelchair accessible.
We do not have an elevator. Our dining room, parlor, and pub are located on the first floor.
We have two all-gender public restrooms on the first floor. Neither is wheelchair accessible due to the width of the doorways.
While we do not have braille signage, the room numbers mounted on doors are 3” metal numbers allowing tactile evaluation.
